Tangent is about small parcels, emerging varieties and one-offs, made when the seasons allow.
Our second release of this Italian native from the Trentino region in Italy. Jane made Lagrein during her Italian winemaking days, and of all the wines she made, the Lagrein stuck in her memory.
We had the opportunity, with our growers, to plant some vines here in the Wairarapa a few years ago, and now we are one of the few New Zealand producers of this wine.
So deeply coloured, it's almost inky... with aromas and flavours of blackberry and savoury woodsmoke, an underlying mineral seam, and robust tannins.
Taste: Blackberry, woodsmoke, stoney, spirited.
