We climbed this old tree together for years, until one day you weren't there
and when I looked up, your branch was empty
I'll always be with you, you whispered
so I pulled an invisible thread from your heart, tied it to mine
and kept climbing.
White heron/kōtuku – sacred guardian and messenger of the spirit world.
Taste: Quince, pear, saline serene.
Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, fermented wild and dry, bottled young. Weighty, textural, bright and minerally.
Bittersweet inspiration for this wine - our parents. Over our 20+ years together we've supported each other through the deaths of them all. During vintage 2024 we lost our family's last mother, last parent, last grandparent.
