Co-ferment of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Riesling.

"You were always gathering and stitching the threads of life - weaving a nest of delicate bedrock around us. A tiny masterpiece of devotion holding us safe, high in the branches, until we were ready to fly away."

Taste: Nectarine, blossom, spice, poised.

For this wine, we looked to grape varieties that worked well together and held up in the vineyard during a tricky season.

What we picked, in the end, were three little parcels of aromatic gold. Unsurprisingly this co-ferment is a classic Alsace combination shining with bright fruit, seductive spice and freshness with that underlying mineral seam all Mānuka Flats Vineyard wines are known for.

The taste? Think that first bite of a summer nectarine.

The name 'The Weaver' was inspired by Grace (our grower's mum), a constant presence at Mānuka Flats Vineyard and an honorary member of our vineyard team. Marine biologist, mother, friend, community leader, skilled weaver and nucleus of the family. Her death during vintage 2023 was felt strongly by us all.

There is a nice symbolism too between the name and the practical action of weaving these different grape varieties together to create this new wine.

93 Points - Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

“Bright, even, pale yellow. This has a soft, subtle bouquet of slowly unfolding aromas of orchard fruit, spice, citrus, stonefruit and a hint of floral. Medium-light bodied, aromas of apple, lemon, pineapple and nectarine melded with rose, apple blossom, white spice and a touch of saline. The mouthfeel is lightly textural with a chewy phenolic grip, adding texture. Acid tension persists to a dry, refreshing closing. This fresh white blend is packed with good energy and vibrancy. Match with fish crudo and pulled pork tacos over the next 2-3 years.”
