It’s Alexia Urban Winery’s 5th birthday! Five years since we opened our doors to the public for the first time!
In that time we’ve released dozens of new wines, held scores of pop-ups, become a wine bar, and spent many hundreds of hours working towards becoming one of NZ’s few in-house Méthode Traditionnelle producers.
To celebrate we’re delving into our cellar and hosting a fun, informal tasting of some of the wines that have defined our urban winery (and us!). There’s a story behind each one.
Take a seat, hear the stories, and taste the love put into each wine as Alexia co-owners Jane (also winemaker) and Lesley spend an hour traversing five whirlwind years of a little urban winery on a Greytown back street.
Ticket includes all tasting pours.
Tasting:
Méthode Traditionnelle (an advance look at a yet to be released vintage)
2019 Chenin Blanc – that wine that showed us Wairarapa’s Chenin Blanc potential
2017 Chardonnay – 6 barrels that lit the urban winery fire
2020 Pinot Noir – the heartbreak grape from the loneliest vintage
2025 Lagrein (from the barrel) - the wine that’s been on Jane’s mind since the 1990s

A note on ticketing and cancellation:
We don't issue physical tickets for this event, just show your ‘Alexia Order Confirmation’ email as proof of purchase when you/your group arrives.
Tickets are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another person.
