This sturdy, densely coloured red is mouthfilling, with a strong surge of blackcurrant, herb and plum flavours and a well-rounded finish. Drink now or cellar. 3 1/2 Stars

Already drinking well, this delicious wine is highly fragrant, with strong, peachy, spicy flavours and a fresh, seductively smooth finish.  Enjoy it as a stimulating partner for seafood and white meat dishes.

Delicious young, the 2010 vintage was grown in the northern Wairarapa and partly barrel-fermented. Finely scented, it’s an instantly attractive wine with mouthfilling body and a sliver of sweetness (9 grams/litre of residual sugar) amid its rich, ripe, peachy flavours, enlivened by fresh, appetising acidity.

A delicious drink-young style with very good depth of ripe cherry and plum flavours, a subtle seasoning of oak and a well-rounded finish.

Sam Kim - Wine Orbit  4 Stars
Ripe and gently perfumed, the appealing nose displays red cherry, spice and a touch of earthy mushroom characters. It's well fruited on the palate showing a juicy mouthfeel, soft texture and a crisp dry finish. Tannins are well pitched providing good structure and frame. At its best: now to 2012.

Fresh and lively, this blend of Opaki (near Masterton) and Martinborough fruit is medium-bodied, with good intensity of gooseberryish, limey flavours, woven with crisp acidity. Enjoyable drinking this year. 3 1/2 stars.

Charles Gill  - The Daily News - November 2008

'...Cooper also has her own brand called Alexia, resplendent in a colourful retro label you can't miss. I can recommend her deftly crafted reds, which retail in the $20-25 price bracket. As you would expect from this region, she has a Pinot Noir - Alexia Wairarapa 2006 - and this is a very pretty pinot with an attractive fragrance and a succulent palate. Even better is an Alexia Hawkes Bay 2007 Merlot that is deep, dark and drenched with blackberry and plum flavours.'
