8/08/2008 - New Wine Label Expands International Distribution
In July this year winemaker Jane Cooper released a revitalised label design for her Alexia brand. This label is a tribute to her grandmother and her mother who both had a real zest for life.
Jane first launched the Alexia label in 2000 with the early wines in the range made from the Nelson region. Today wines under the Alexia label are made from two of New Zealand's premiere grape-growing regions. The Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir are from Wairarapa and the Chardonnay, Rosé and Merlot from Hawke's Bay.
Distribution in New Zealand is growing in momentum with strong local support for the brand especially in the Wairarapa and Wellington area. It is the Australian states of New South Wales and Victoria however where the Alexia wines in their bold new livery have proven most popular. The Alexia Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are the two stars in the range for the Australian wine drinkers. New export markets are currently being sought in The Netherlands, Asia and the UK.
